Bettendorf Kiwanis is now taking grant applications for literacy projects. Grant applications are due April 23, 2013. Requests can be for a minimum of $500 and a maximum of $1500. Fill out the application and send in by April 23, 2013 to

District Governor’s Visit January 11, 2013

The Governor of the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District of Kiwanis is from our own division 16. John Moreland, of the Clinton, Iowa club, will attend a dinner event on Saturday, January 22nd starting at 5:30 p.m. The event will be hosted by the Rock Island Kiwanis Club at the Q.C. Botantical Center. The cost of each dinner is $15.

Team Hawkeye22 emerged out of the loser’s bracket and accomplished the unthinkable. They defeated the winner’s bracket team, the RoadKings, in two straight matches (2-1 and 2-0) to claim the championship at the Bettendorf Kiwanis Fourth of July Bags Tournament. Congratulations to these teams and thanks to Old Chicago for the team prizes. Thanks for all of the teams for their participation and support of local Kiwanis!

Our annual roses fundraiser kicks off today! Here is your chance to support our service projects and scholarship funds. Please consider buying one dozen roses from your local Kiwanis club for only $16. The deadline for orders is April 13th, 2012. The distribution date of these roses is Administrative Professionals’ Day on Wednesday, April 25th. More details are here.

The Bettendorf Kiwanis and Rotary clubs will co-host the Bettendorf Mayor’s State of the City address on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012. The luncheon will be held at the Waterfront Convention Center (map) in downtown Bettendorf. The luncheon will cost $10 per person and members in attendance are responsible for this meal cost.
