Club members volunteer at Cafe on Vine October 29, 2018

On Tuesday, October 23rd, members of the Bettendorf Kiwanis Club served many meals to the community at the Cafe on Vine in Davenport, Iowa.  Volunteers also presented a donation check to the Cafe at the conclusion of the service project.

The Quad City Dining Tour coupon books are back!

Our club has received its shipment of these very valuable coupon books. They are full of buy one meal, get one free coupons at local restaurants.  If you support us with your purchase, you assist local charities at the same time!  More information is here!

Scholarship applications available March 20, 2018

The Bettendorf Kiwanis are now accepting applications for a one-time scholarship to a school of the applicant’s choice. Scholarships will be awarded to a graduating senior who resides in either the Bettendorf or Pleasant Valley School District (regardless of where they attend) and who will be entering college or vocational school in the fall of 2018. The award’s criterion is primarily based on leadership and community involvement. Two scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $500 each.

The deadline to submit this application is April 8, 2018.

Bettendorf Kiwanians joined together with Kids Against Hunger in their fight against malnutrition throughout the world.

Key Club & Circle K scholarship programs February 13, 2017

The I-I District is happy to be able to offer $1,000 scholarships for the 2017-18 school year.  The Key Club scholarships are available to current, active Key Club members in the I-I District who will graduating in 2017 and are pursuing a secondary education in the fall of 2017.  The Circle K (CKI) scholarships are available to current, active members of CKI Clubs in the I-I District who will be continuing their secondary education in the fall of 2017.  The Key Club Application deadline passed in December and the Circle K deadline is February 23, 2017.

The Past Lieutenant Governors Association (PLGA) of the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District of Kiwanis International is also happy to announce having  scholarship funds available to an I-I District eligible Key Club high school senior who is enrolling in an accredited two or four-year college or university; and, to an eligible I-I District member of Circle K who is currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program at an accredited university or college. All Clubs in the I-I District Clubs are encouraged to pass this on to their Key Club and CKI Club advisors.  This Application deadline is March 15, 2017.

Bettendorf State of the City address coming February 15th January 30, 2017

Bettendorf Mayor Bob Gallagher has invited Bettendorf Kiwanis to attend the State of the City address on Wednesday, February 15, at the Waterfront Convention Center. Doors open at 11:00 a.m.  Opening/welcome remarks and lunch at 11:30 a.m.  State of the City presentation at 12:15 p.m.

Members, please RSVP to Brian by February 6th.

There will be no meeting on Tuesday, February 14.

Our annual roses fundraiser is now ending. Our Kiwanis club is seeking community support through the purchase of one dozen roses for $16 each in recognition of Administrative Professional’s Day.  You are free to choose the vibrant color of your beautiful bouquet upon pickup on Wednesday, April 27th, 2016.  The deadline for online orders has passed.  If you are still interested in ordering flowers, please contact a club member.  Thank you!
