Recently, our club learned about the nonprofit organization called Kids Against Hunger. John Kessler told us that his organization is in need of teams of people to donate their time, energy, and finances to help bag life saving food. Our club will form an assembly to create at least 1,000 bags of dried food for children of Haiti on Saturday, February 13 from 9 to 10 am. A sign-up sheet is being circulated at our weekly meetings. The club will sponsor part of the event, however each participating member is asked to donate at least $20 to help pay for the meal ingredients. This is a all-day event by Kids Against Hunger and will be held at The Center – corner of Brady and 14th Street in Davenport. For more info, read this press release or visit www.kahqc.com. If you are unable to attend but you would like to donate, make checks payable to “Kids Against Hunger” and give it to an officer of the club or mail it to their Moline address.
